KG280 Switch Anti-Barricade Double Acting Continuous Hinge

The Switch anti-barricade hinge is a unique double acting continuous hinge that can be unlocked to allow the door to open outwards in an emergency barricade situation.

The Switch anti-barricade hinge is a patent pending design and has been developed specifically for use in behavioral health facilities where barricade incidents are likely to occur and patient safety is of the greatest importance. The Switch hinge is continuous along the full length of the door and is ligature resistant by design.

The major benefits of the Switch anti-barricade hinge are:

• Allows the staff to stand by the hinge side to activate the barricade device and open the door outwards - the traditional anti-barricade door stops put the staff in the barricade 'red zone' on the opening side of the door where they are at risk of injury.
